| The Features Of Neil's Coaching Solution
- The coaching would be set up on a 'one-to-one' basis. (It can work on a 'one-to-some(two or more)' basis, but this is more unusual. Equally, the relationship may begin on a 'one-to-some(two)' basis and, as the necessary relationship(s) develop, change format to meet the requirements of the subjects).
The benefit of coaching more than one person at a time is that an extra dimension is added to the conversations, solutions and objectives. It is also a cost effective way of offering coaching in a business situation to more than one person as Neil Taylor’s coaching service is charged at an hourly rate. It is unusual to offer Life Coaching to more than one person at a time, but Neil has experienced this working in the past where the coaching clients share similar issues or have matching (or complimentary) life objectives.
For all references below it is assumed that the more usual one-to-one coaching relationship is employed.
- There is usually an initial two hour meeting at which a 'Coaching Contract' is agreed. At this meeting the relationship between coach and client is established, parameters are agreed and objectives are set.
This relationship is central to the success of any coaching experience. The relationship revolves around key elements of empathy, trust and synergy. If the initial meeting is successful in establishing the relationship outline objectives between coach and client will be agreed, together with key questions to be asked and pursued during the Coaching Contract.
A 'Coaching Diary' system will be established whereby the client will note important events/conversations/ issues in their working or personal lives in the interim period between coaching sessions, from which topics for analysis and development will arise.
- The 'Coaching Contract' will typically run for either a four or six month period following this initial session. However, if you require a shorter and more intensive coaching relationship, or just want a one-off ‘let’s see if it hurts’ session that can work equally well. Coaching is a very individual experience.
The sessions will be conducted at the premises of the client's choice, usually on a three weekly or monthly cycle.
All sessions are completely confidential and there will be no reporting (other than on an outline basis agreed with the subject, if required) to the organisation or anyone else of conversations, issues or objectives.
Neil Taylor will be available for either telephone or email coaching in the interim period between formal coaching sessions, as and when required by the client.
Life Coaching can be offered over the telephone. This works well for some people and enables sessions to be both convenient and private.
- At the sessions you and Neil will jointly develop the relationship, working towards the principal objectives set out at the outset, but which will almost certainly evolve organically.
The coaching will challenge the client to think differently, develop skills and confidence, work on stated goals and set and deliver 's.m.a.r.t.' action points.
Ultimately the central objective of the coaching sessions is to empower the client to develop a series of triggers and key questions that will enable them to become their 'own coach', finding their own solutions on an ongoing basis. It is the sign of a good coach that he is made redundant within a period of time, being no longer needed as a touchstone or mentor. All of the future work is done within the client’s own mind.
